Sustainability

At Lusk Onion Company, sustainability is an important part of how we operate and plan for the future. We continually evaluate our farming practices, operational efficiency, and resource management to reduce environmental impact while maintaining high-quality agricultural production. Our approach focuses on responsible land stewardship, efficient use of water and fuel resources, and ongoing improvements that support both environmental and business sustainability.
As part of our commitment to responsible supply chain practices, we participate in Project Gigaton and report our sustainability initiatives through the Walmart Sustainability Hub. Project Gigaton is a global initiative launched by Walmart that works with suppliers to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the supply chain, with a goal of eliminating or avoiding one billion metric tons of emissions through improvements in areas such as energy use, agriculture, waste reduction, packaging, and transportation.
Through our participation, we track and report sustainability efforts that contribute to these goals and align with Walmart’s broader climate and environmental commitments. By collaborating with retail partners and industry initiatives, we aim to strengthen transparency, improve operational efficiency, and support long-term environmental stewardship within the agricultural supply chain.
