Social Responsibility

At Lusk Onion Company, social responsibility is embedded in how we operate and how we support our workforce. We are committed to ethical labor practices, safe working conditions, and responsible business conduct across our operations. As part of this commitment, we are scheduled for a 4-Pillar SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) facility audit conducted by an APSCA-accredited auditing firm this October, reinforcing our dedication to independently verified social compliance standards.

We have been an active Sedex member since 2023, utilizing its platform to conduct risk assessments, strengthen transparency, and access tools and resources that support responsible supply chain management. Through Sedex, we proactively evaluate labor standards, health and safety, environmental practices, and business ethics to ensure continuous improvement across our organization.

Additionally, we participate in the ECIP (Ethical Charter Implementation Program) as both a grower and supplier. ECIP provides structured guidance and self-assessment tools designed to promote responsible employment practices, ethical recruitment, and compliance with labor standards. Together, these programs reflect our commitment to accountability, transparency, and the fair treatment of our workforce.
